coincidence land
Nicaragua so far has been good. We spent a couple days in managua, saw a couple films (Davinci Code, and Scary Movie 4...) and hung out.
OK. The freakiest thing happened EVER. We were sitting in the mall, actually in the food court sipping rum and cokes (yes, we are that classy) talking about our adventures. The adventures were mainly based on the guys we had met in Playa Zonte in El Salvador. We were laughing, and Sage was doing a fairly acurate immitaion of Ad´s pretending to be 'Osama Bin-Lay-den'. The conversation lulled, and I found myself looking around the foodcourt. At the Mcdonalds, there was two boys. Two white boys. I sat there thinking to myslef...hmmm, they kind of look like Jono and Ads. Oh look, he even has the same hat as Ads, oh and Jono has the same glasses...Wait, a friggen second here. IT IS THEM.
IT WAS SO WEIRD. Considering Jono was supposed to be in Mexico, and Ads was supposed to be in Panama. For some reason, they decided to stay longer in Nicaragua at the surf beaches, and we just happend to bump into them at the freakin' mall. It was odd, we all kind of just sat there and talked about how friggen random it was.
So, we had one good last night with the boys. We went to an Irishy kind of pub where this man older than my father (his grandaughter was 21) bought us drinks (sweet news for the budget traveller!). They were pretty nice, although very drunk. We all hung out for a while, then split off because Jono and Ads wanted to go to a 'boys bar'.
We met them later at this crazy club called the Matrix. It was insane, and we danced into the wee hours of the morning. Jono and Ad's had to be at the bus station really early so we said our goodbyes once again. Whos knows, we might see them again.
We also had an early bus this morning, although not as early as Jonos 4 Am. We took a mini-bus to Leon at 8 o´clock in the morning. It wasnt too long, so it was alright. We checked into our hostel called 'Bigfoot', which is pretty sweet. After our night of dancing, Gummy Bears and two hours of sleep we slept and loaded up on french fries and liquados. Not too sure if that was the best idea, since now my stomach seems to be suffering.
Tomorrow I think we are going to be looking around a bit at the churches and stuff. There is also suppsoed to be a Revolutionary Mural, and a display of 'striking black and white photos'. Should be a good time...

Hello Clare,
Thank you for being the most consistent in writing in your blog and letting me know where my daughter is.
I think I will book three spots in the detox center for you because I am thinking if you are drinking rum and coke in the food court of a mall, you are probably going to be in need of some drying out!!
Perhaps mention to Sage not to write about it in her blog as her grandmother already thinks she has become a raging alcoholic.
What a coincident running into your friends! It must have been meant to be.
Could you also pass on to Sage that I need her UBC password, and student number so I can register for her, just in case she is out of detox by the time fall rolls around.
You gals are entering into your final month of travels. Wow has it gone fast. Are you still meeting up with Toni?
Take care, and thanks again Clare for keeping us updated.
Pam
